Anpario, producer and distributor of natural feed additives, invited customers from around the world to central Europe to gain insight into the production of its 100% natural oregano essential oil, Orego-Stim.
According to the company, this oil is recognised for its antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, and helps to promote gut health.
“We ran a series of technical seminars at which experts explained Orego-Stim’s complex mode of action and shared recent news updates and trial data,” said Dr Wendy Wakeman, Anpario’s global technical director, adding, “The trials highlighted the benefits of oregano essential oil in improving health and productivity, for ruminants, swine and poultry species.”
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Animal Nutrition has opened its newest livestock feed plant near northern Vietnam’s key farming region in Ha Nam province, Vietnam.
The plant will produce feed mainly for swine, as well as for poultry and rabbits. Technology at the plant includes modern pneumatic transfer of raw materials, full automatic control, a biomass boiler to provide a renewable energy source, an automated micro-dosing system to ensure accurate nutrient content in products, and an automatic bagging line and palletising robot.
Lallemand Animal Nutrition are now an official partner of Foods of Norway, strengthening the development of innovative feeds for aquaculture and agriculture.
Foods of Norway is working to develop microbial ingredients such as yeast from blue and green biomass by using new technology, and to determine how these affect growth, physiology, health and product quality of Atlantic salmon and traditional livestock animals.
Wilbur-Ellis Nutrition, a distributor of agricultural products, animal nutrients, and specialty chemicals and ingredients, has acquired the assets of Rangen, a 90-plus year-old aquaculture and general feed production company with production facilities in Idaho and Texas, USA.
The aquaculture business includes the production of feed for fish, including trout, salmon and shrimp. The acquisition includes 2 plants in Buhl, Idaho, which manufacture aquaculture and general feed products, as well as an aquaculture feed plant in Angleton, Texas.
The latest data behind 260 raw animal feed ingredients and in excess of 40,000 nutrients, including new amino acids and insect proteins, has been published within the new global ingredients matrix, Premier Atlas.
According to Premier pig product director, Mick Hazzledine, the matrix, authored by Premier Nutrition, provides the animal feed industry with the precise ingredient values for efficient feed formulation, adding that 59 new ingredients are included in this edition of the matrix.
Royal Agrifirm Group has signed a partnership agreement with Dinamica Generale involved in weighing and NIR technology in the field of precision feeding and digital animal farming. The agreement is the result of a joint effort among Agrifirm, Dinamica Generale and Foderteknik, strategic partner of Dinamica Generale in Denmark.
“This partnership enables us to match Agrifirm’s feed advice to the definitively loaded quantity and type of feed. This makes it possible to refine the feed advice if necessary and, on the basis of reliable measurements, the livestock farmer can administer the feed even more precisely within his/her specified conditions, such as costs and ration quality,” said Jonne Twerda, cattle veterinarian and TMR specialist at Agrifirm.
Cargill has opened a US$34m 6,500sqm expansion of its animal nutrition and health facility in Temple, Texas, USA, to expand manufacturing, packaging, warehousing and shipping capabilities.
The facility, which is capable of producing nearly 500,000t of bag and bulk animal feed per year, aims to serve the company’s farm and ranch feed store owners and beef feed customers in the region.
Ingredient manufacturer, Kemin Industries, has opened a new 4,200sqm Innovation and Technology Centre at its regional headquarters in Zhuhai, China. The new facility is a US$14 million investment in Kemin’s research and development efforts in the country.
Scientists will be employed to work at Kemin’s new facility in multiple industries, including animal nutrition and health, aquaculture, food technologies, pet food, and specialty crop improvement.
In the golden and harvest season, Zheng Chang loaded and delivered several large-scale feed equipment lines to Belarus 7,261km away, which will contribute to the early completion of the Belarus-CITIC project, which, according to the company, has a major impact on the development of the feed industry in Belarus.
German-based EW Nutrition opened its new production plant in Haimen, China, to bring its products closer to their Chinese customers, and to support antibiotic-free production.
The new facility is the next step in the development of EWN Biotechnology Shanghai and will produce the company’s 3 product lines to represent EW Nutrition’s answer to gut and respiratory health issues, as well as toxin risk management.
