Ovocom has taken significant steps, together with 3 other scheme holders, towards an interchangeability agreement with the French CSA/GTP standard.

Ovocom is the Belgian consultation platform intended for the feed sector. It manages the Feed Chain Alliance Standard, which serves as a guide line for companies belonging to the feed sector. The Standard is specifically designed for and by professionals belonging to this sector.

Together with the Agricultural Industries Confederation (AIC), GMP+ International, and QS Qualität und Sicherheit an agreement with the scheme holders of the CSA/GTP standard have been made. This French standard covers the collection, the storage, the trading and transport of cereals, oilseeds and protein crops. The GSA/GTP standard is managed by 3 professional associations:

  • Coop de France Métiers du Grain;
  • la Fédération du Négoce Agricole (FNA)
  • Syndicat National du Commerce Extérieur des Céréales et Oléoprotéagineux (Synacomex)

A completely new version of their CSA/GTP Standard will be published soon. The revision of the standard is the basis of the agreement with OVOCOM and the other administrators. Some additional adjustments still need to be worked out and implemented. The complete implementation will be effective on 1 January 2019.

For Ovocom and GMP + International, this means that they maintain the acceptance of the CSA/GTP Standard. A temporary interchangeability agreement is being established, so that the correct implementation of the additional adjustments can be closely monitored. The desire of both organisations is to make this agreement after 1 July 2018 result in a full interchangeability agreement. For AIC and QS, this agreement paves the way for a full interchangeability agreement from 1 January 2019 onwards.
