Romer Labs, a global food safety diagnostic company, is pleased to announce that its new AgraStrip Total Aflatoxin Quantitative WATEX test kit has successfully undergone verification of performance as defined by the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) and passed.
The USDA Certificate of Conformance was granted on September 10, 2014 and can be downloaded here. The new water-based method will allow food, feed and grain producers, as well as USDA-GIPSA approved inspection agencies, to test for aflatoxins without using organic solvents, such as methanol, which are expensive, flammable, and must be disposed as hazardous waste.
Additionally, the test kits have been significantly improved to simplify the ease of-use and to speed up the workflow. With the new dissolvable and pre-weighed extraction buffer bags no time-consuming or difficult buffer preparations steps are needed. No filtration or centrifugation step is needed due to innovative extraction equipment that is included in each test kit, making the use of
additional extract clarification obsolete. The AgraStrip Total Aflatoxin Quantitative WATEX test kit is the fastest test available on the market, meeting the industry needs for a simple, sensitive and easy-to-use test kit.
“The GIPSA certification proves that our new AgraStrip Watex test kit line, combining a simplified sample preparation with an innovative workflow, meets the stringent performance criteria. Customers significantly benefit from this solution, as testing can be easily performed on-site or on-field within minutes without any additional equipment or the storage of hazardous materials”, states
Michael Prinster, CEO of Romer Labs America. Over the next months, the new AgraStrip WATEX test kit line will be further expanded to cover regulated mycotoxins
