New product and feed mills are popping up everywhere. The latest ones are listed below.

Perstorp launches new molecule

The Perstorp Group has launched ProPhorce™ Valerins to the market. These are glycerol esters of valeric acid to be used in feed to promote animal performance. This product shows promising results in reducing the negative impact of Clostridium Perfringens (bot in vivo and in vitro). The commercial introduction of ProPhorce Valerins will commence immediately in selected markets and with customers interested in working in close collaboration with Perstorp to further build the competence and knowledge about this new product.

New plant for Angel Yeast

Angel Yeast is building a new yeast plant in Russia, which will start operation in July 2017. The plant is located in the Dankov Economic Zone in Lipetsk, around 400km away from Moscow. This new plant is the second overseas yeast plant of Angel Yeast. The first one was built in Egypt. The Russian plant covers an area of 30 hectares with an annual production capacity of 20 thousand tonnes. It is going to be the most advanced yeast manufacturing plants of Angel Yeast.

ADM launches feed manager app

ADM Animal Nutrition, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company launched a new digital sales tool, the MycoLogic™ Feed Manager app. Developed exclusively for ADM Animal Nutrition, this iPad app designed to help ADM sales representatives effectively evaluate the nutritional needs of their customers’ livestock through a quick and thorough digital assessment. In addition, the MycoLogic Feed Manager app provides ADM representatives with easy access to a library of research, product brochures, and presentations to educate customers on ADM’s portfolio of nutritional offerings.

Ottevanger project in Kenya

In March 2017, the new aquafeed factory of Unga Holdings Ltd in Nairobi, Kenya was opened. The new feed plant is designed to produce 5,000 tonnes per year of high quality floating fish feed for the East African Market. It is the first establishment of this size in East Africa, that will respond to the high demand for fish feed. With the new plant, Unga Farms Ltd. creates the opportunity for local fish farmers to increase their output and lower their productions costs per kg. Ottevanger Milling Engineers was responsible for the engineering, project management, manufacturing and installation of the complete process equipment.
