AquaNutro managing director, Dirk van der Linde, has confirmed that their pet food products are now safe for consumption, after a contaminant was found in some of their lines of dog food.
Van der Linde said in a press statement this week that the company had
conducted extensive tests and the factory is now able to continue with the
manufacturing of its product range. “Customers can be assured that all our
products comply with all health, hygiene and nutritional standards,” he said.
AquaNutro said that new orders of the ingredient were placed directly from a
different supplier in Europe.
Withdrawal
Woolworth’s
in-house brand of pet food is supplied by AquaNutro and was also affected by the
contaminant ethylene-glycol The supermarket chain has withdrawn all its dry dog
and cat food as it continues to run extensive in-depth tests on its own range of
dry dog food.
