Japan imports more DDGS from the US
Japan imported 43,585 metric tons of DDGS from the US in 2006, a 717% increase compared to 2005, according to US Grain Council (USGC).
“Japanese imports of DDGS are expected to increase
with more commercial use particularly in dairy and poultry,” noted Hiroko

The Council is moving forward with several initiatives to
enhance DDGS awareness and use in Japan. Hiroaki Igarashi has also joined the
Council’s office in Japan as a DDGS promotion consultant. He will be working
one-on-one with potential users and importers of DDGS in the feed and livestock
industry in Japan.
