Merck appoints new manager for aquaculture division

Chris Beattie, Ph.D. has been appointed to lead the aquaculture division of Merck Animal Health. His role will involve life-cycle management and much more.

In his role, Beattie will be responsible for oversight of the strategic direction of the division, including product introductions and geo-expansion into currently under-developed regions. He joins the company from Skretting North America, where he was General Manager. Beattie received his Bachelor of Science in Marine & Freshwater Biology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland and his Ph.D. in Fish Physiology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland having carried out much of his practical research work at the Institute of Marine Research in Norway.
Fabio Paganini, Leader Food Production Animal Division says they are pleased to have Beattie join the team, he brings with him an impressive background and an exceptional track record in the industry.
Merck Animal Health is known as MSD Animal Health outside the USA and Canada.
