The Megamix Company is currently constructing a new premix plant in the Lipetsk Oblast of Russia, which will be the largest in Russia and could potentially be one of the largest in Eastern Europe.

According to the company representatives the plant will have a capacity of about 140,000 tonnes of feed premixes per year – 50% of the total Russian demand for feed premixes in 2014. And they have not ruled out the possibility that part of production will be exported.

The cost of the project is RUB1 billion (US$330 million, based on the exchange rate when the money was invested). Of which, 80% of the money has been allocated by soft loans from state banks, as authorities are of the opinion that the project has great importance for the whole Russian livestock industry.

The project’s design was developed by the Dutch company Ottevanger Milling Engineers.

Representatives of Megamix have earlier reported that the company has already signed a preliminary agreement with Russian largest meat producer – agricultural holding Miratorg, to supply premixes to their farms.
