Positive EFSA opinion for DSM poultry additive

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has recognised a new poultry feed additive from DSM as a safe and effective zootechnical additive.

The additive* has been proven by a number of scientific studies to significantly improve feed conversion, increase live weight gain and support the reduction of pathogenic bacteria in poultry.

The flavouring additive comprises a specific blend of benzoic acids and essential oil components including thymol, eugenol and piperine. These ingredients stimulate the production of digestive enzymes and improve the balance of gut microflora. The result is greater and more consistent digestive efficiency. The additive can be added to diets from starter to withdrawal rations.
