Which plant extract thesis will win the Nor-Feed award?

The French animal nutrition company has introduced the “Nor-Feed Veterinary Award”, which rewards a veterinarian thesis dealing with the functional properties of plants in animal health.

The prize consists of €5,000 and is open to young scientists from around the world. It is meant to recognise a recent veterinarian thesis (or a thesis of veterinary interest) addressing the functional properties of plants, plant extracts or products derived from plants, and their application in animal health and/or livestock production.

The Nor-Feed Award will be granted in September 2015 by a jury composed of a senior scientist from the company itself and two independent academics.

Pierre Chicoteau, DVM and Nor-Feed co-CEO, commented on this initiative: “Although the use of plants in animal nutrition is very ancient, there is relatively little academic work on the matter. We hope that this award will contribute to highlighting the properties and benefits of plants, as well as opening up new research perspectives too.”

To participate, candidates must submit a summary of their thesis by June 30th 2015 at the latest.
