The European Commission has given the green light to Norwegian mineral fertilisers and agronomic solutions provider Yara International to acquire Kemira GrowHow.
To do so Yara has to divest a part of its nitrogen chemicals business in
Koping, Sweden, and divest part of Kemira GrowHow’s nitrogen chemicals business
in Tertre, Belgium, and close the Ferti supply distribution joint venture in
Denmark, among others.
In total the commitments correspond to less than
3% of Kemira GrowHow revenues.
Yara International has elected to waive
the remaining preconditions for the completion of the tender offer, and the
offer will be completed after the termination of the offer period by 4 October
2007.
Kemira GrowHow develops and markets fertilisers and
integrated solutions for crop cultivation, animal feed supplements and chemicals
required in various industries. The company is listed on the Nordic Exchange in
Helsinki.
Yara
International, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is a fertilisers and
agronomic solutions supplier.
The company has 7,000 employees and sells
its products in 120 countries. Yara is listed on the Oslo Stock
