The Cargill oilseed processing plant in Lower Saxony, Germany has been audited by LRQA and has been found in compliance with the EFISC requirements.
“Our Food & Feed Safety Team is very satisfied with the positive result of this industry specific certification process that EFISC provides,” Armin Mönch, Quality Manager, said.
“The new EFISC certificate is the right answer to demonstrate our efforts in producing safe rapeseed meal for the European market. Harmonised cross-border standards reflecting the EU requirements are an improvement for us and our partners in the feed chain.”
The European Feed Ingredients Safety Code promotes good practice in the industrial manufacturing of safe feed materials.
The code was developed as a result of the shared commitment between the starch industry (
AAF) and the oilseed crushing, oil refining and protein meal industry (
FEDIOL) within the framework of the European Feed Ingredients Platform (
EFIP), which provides a harmonised, voluntary feed safety assurance scheme for the feed materials industry in the EU. The code is open to other feed material producing sectors to join.
