Lawrence, Massachusetts (USA) based Charm Sciences announced that their Rosa Fast5 DON Quantitative Test is approved for official testing of DON in the US national grain inspection system.

The Rosa Fast5 DON Quantitative test kit, is a 5 minute DON lateral flow test, which received approval from the US Department of Agriculture’s Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) for the detection of DON (vomitoxin) in grain.

An official Certificate of Conformance from USDA/GIPSA (Certificate No. FGIS 2012-008) declares that the test kit met the accuracy specifications for the listed commodities at 0.5 to 5 ppm DON.

Charm’s Rosa FastT5 DON Quantitative Test is an immunoreceptor assay test utilizing ROSA (Rapid One-Step Assay) lateral flow technology.

The test delivers rapid, economical, accurate detection for DON in a convenient single strip, is simple to perform and yields results in 5 minutes on the standard ROSA equipment currently in use.

Diluted extract is applied to the test strip, incubated for 5 minutes, and read on the ROSA-M Reader.

Reader Ranges for DON:  0 to 1.5 ppm and 1 to 6 ppm and kits are available in 20, 100, and 500 tests
