EU supports dairy farmers with €280 million

At a meeting for Agricultural ministers on 19 October, EU commissioner for agriculture Fischer Boel said the EU will give €280 million to release the pressure among EU dairy farmers.

It is not fully clear yet how the money will be spent.

Dairy farmers in the European Union are struggling to survive as a result of very low milk prices. The current farm milk gate price per litre is below the cost price for a litre of milk.
