Canada-based Husky Energy Inc. completed the construction of a new ethanol plant in Minnedosa, Canada. The new plant will annually produce 130 million litres of ethanol and 130,000 tonnes (143,000 tons) of Distillers Dried Grain with Solubles (DDGS)
The plant cost about US$197 million to build and
was completed by 500 workers working over 1.1 million hours on-site. The
construction cost was partially funded by a US$10.2 million grant from the
Government of Canada’s Ethanol Expansion Programme. The entire project
includes road upgrades, the installation of additional water facilities and a
steam generation plant.
