President Obama is deploying his key trade officials across the country on Monday to talk to Americans about how increasing exports supports and creates quality, high-paying jobs in manufacturing, services, and agriculture.
Ro Khanna, United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce, will present the details of the NEI in Des Moines.
Export award
Prior to the NEI communication, Insta-Pro International will be recognized with a US Commerce Department Export Excellence Award for its commitment to international business.
Kevin Kacere, President and CEO of Insta-Pro International states, “We are thrilled that both Des Moines and Insta-Pro have been selected for the launch of NEI. The export award is a reflection of our employees’ focus on our customers not only in the U.S., but all over the world.”
Other federal and state officials and area business leaders are expected to attend and take part in this event. The afternoon will conclude with a tour of Insta-Pro International’s facility and a demonstration of an extruder.
Two million jobs target
President Obama has directed his Cabinet to make export promotion one of its highest priorities and to work across agencies to accomplish the goals of the National Export Initiative (NEI).
The President set a goal of doubling exports in five years and supporting 2 million US jobs.
The International Trade Administration’s U.S. Export Assistance Centers will host events and programs designed to inform businesses on how increasing exports will expand employment.
Each local event will incorporate area business leaders, local elected officials, members of Congress and a variety of experts.
Exports accounted for 11% of US Gross Domestic Product in 2009. For every $1 billion in exports, 6,250 manufacturing jobs are created or supported. Every $1 billion of US agricultural exports supports 9,000 jobs.
Insta-Pro International will receive recognition and an Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce to recognize their extraordinary success in exporting products that contribute to human nutrition, animal nutrition and bio fuels production in more than 100 countries.
Insta-Pro International manufactures and promotes extrusion and oilseed processing technologies worldwide. The company has presence in over 100 countries.
