Made For Agriculture Enterprises, headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, has purchased Irsik & Doll’s feed mill and grain elevator in Emporia and Emch Feed and Elevator Company of Madison.
The arrangement will bring MFA added feed manufacturing and grain merchandising strength provided by the addition of these facilities.
“We are excited by the opportunities provided by purchasing these facilities,” said Alan Wessler, MFA vice president of feed operations and animal health.
“Buying the Emporia and Madison facilities allows MFA to expand its scope of agricultural products and services to a wider geographical area and to strengthen service to MFA’s existing farmer and rancher customers in eastern Kansas, Missouri and the Midwest.”
MFA Enterprises is a fully owned subsidiary of MFA Incorporated, which is a farm supply and marketing cooperative serving 45,000 plus active farmers in Missouri, eastern Kansas, northeastern Oklahoma and adjacent states.
Founded in 1914, MFA has 131 company-owned locations and 25 local MFA affiliates with 23 branches. The cooperative also serves approximately 400 independent dealers and local cooperatives. MFA had 2011 fiscal year net sales of $1.3 billion.
Irsik & Doll Feed Services, founded in 1961, is a cattle feeding and grain merchandising company with feedlots and grain facilities in multiple locations throughout western Kansas.
Emch Feed and Elevator Company, founded in 1969, has a customer base in multiple counties and enjoys a reputation for customer service in both row crops and livestock, a practice MFA will continue.
