Modern Process Equipment Corporation (MPE), a leading manufacturer of precision particle reduction equipment, has launched its “Cold Milling” Flax Seed Gran-U-Lizer (grinder).
This unit utilises water-cooled rollers and a proprietary tooth profile to cut and mill flax seed into a very fine powder – much finer than conventional hammer mills.
MPE’s design eliminates screens, thereby eliminating product stickiness and “gumming”, while reducing product retention time within the grinder to eliminate heat generation and exposure.
Flax seeds need to be milled (ground) in order to offer their health benefits. The cold milling process keeps all of the nutrients intact, including preserving the fragile Omega 3 oils found in flax.
Typical capacities for MPE’s flax seed grinders range from 2,000 to 4,000 lbs/hr (907.4 to 1814 kg/hr), depending on the grind size setting. Larger and smaller versions are also available.
