Novus Int. joins sustainability platform

Cayuga Marketing LLC, General Mills and NOVUS International, Inc have become the new members of the SAI Platform.

SAI Platform is an organization created by the food industry to communicate worldwide, and to actively support the development of, sustainable agriculture involving the different stakeholders of the food chain.

About the companies
Cayuga Marketing LLC (CM) is comprised of 22 large farm business owners who own and manage assets in excess of $300 million USD, with 520 employees, who milk approximately 28,000 mature cows at 28 sites and marketed 675,000,000 lbs. (300,000,000 liters) of milk and had gross product sales over $130 million USD in 2008. 

Starting with two flour mills in the 1860s, General Mills revolutionized the milling industry by producing flour with superior baking properties. Today, General Mills is the world’s 6th largest food company and employs more than 29,000 people around the world. Its global brands include Betty Crocker, Häagen-Dazs, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso and Cheerios.

NOVUS International, Inc. creates animal health and nutrition solutions based on science.  The NOVUS International team is comprised of more than 600 people which includes doctors of Veterinary Medicine and Nutritionists.

The three new members will be actively participating in SAI Platform’s activities, and in particular its Working Groups on Arable crops, Coffee, Dairy, Fruit as well as Water and Agriculture.
