Russian feed production shows gradual growth

According to Amico Company market research of the Russian animal feed market from 2005 to 2010, production has been increased by 62% or in absolute numbers from 10 million tons of animal feed in 2005 to 16.2 million tons in 2010. The average growth rate over the period per year was 9%.

According to the study nowadays main feed production area is the Central Federal District. In 2010, here 6.088 million tons have been produced or 37.5% of the total feed produced in Russia.
 
The volume of the Siberian Federal District output was 3.077 million tons or a 19% share, while the output in the Volga Federal District was 1.903 million tons, or 11.7% of total. 
In the Urals Federal District it 1.510 million tons, or 10.6% of total feed production were produced. The North-West and Southern federal districts in 2010 contributed 9.3% and 9.1% to Russia’s animal feed, respectively. About 57.7% of the total feed production is a poultry feed.
 
Faster growth
According to experts, current growth rates of feed the production industry in the coming years will only increase. "Today we see the rapid development of all breeding industries in Russia.  Poultry and pork industry in the country grow very fast and already now a significant portion of its production is allocated for export supplies. 
 
In this regard the demand for animal feed is also constantly growing, which makes the feed industry in Russia extremely attractive to foreign investors, the experts say. (Vladislav Vorodnikov)
