Russia’s grain harvest this year hits 109.6 mln tonnes

As of November 17, 2014 Russia has harvested 109.6 million tonnes of grain in the original recorded weight with the average yield of 25.1 hundredweight / ha, according to a report from the country’s Agricultural Ministry.

This amount of grain has been harvested from an area of 43.7 million ha or 97.1% of the total sown land, according to the report:

  • Wheat has been harvested from the area 23.9 million ha – with a total amount of 62.1 million tonnes with an average yield of 26.0 t / ha.
  • Barley has been harvested from the area of 9.0 million ha  – with a total amount of 21.2 million tonnes with an average yield of 23.5 t / ha.
  • Corn has been harvested from the area 2.4 million ha – with a total amount of 10.7 million tonnes with an average yield of 45.4 t / ha.
  • Rapeseed has been harvested from the area 1.0 million ha – with a total amount of 1.4 million tonnes with an average yield of 13.9 t / ha.
  • Soy has been harvested from the area 1.8 million ha in the total amount 2.5 million tonnes with an average yield of 13.6 t / ha.

It is expected that the final figure of grain harvest this year will exceed 110 million tonnes.
