Southern Australia (SA) can now benefit from a new wheat variety, bred to handle the typical low rainfall in the southern parts of the country.
The axe variety, from Australian Grain Technologies, has a short growing
season so it can survive a lack of rain in late winter and spring. It is also
resistant to stripe and leaf rust.
