In the first half of 2014, Dutch feed company ForFarmers realised a strong improvement in its operating result. The total feed volume increased by one percent. This was announced by the company today.
Gross profit was up 6% in the first half of the year, because of synergy in the area of nutritional expertise. “ForFarmers continued its international expansion in the first half of the year”, stated by Yoram Knoop, CEO of ForFarmers.
The operating result increased by 33% to € 27.2 million, compared with € 20.5 million in the first half of 2013. The compound feed volume rose slightly by 1% to 3.2 million tonnes, partly on the back of the acquisition of HST Feeds. Excluding the impact of acquisition, compound feed volume remained unchanged.
ForFarmers announced that it aims to grow even further by entering into strategic alliances, partnerships and acquisitions. At the moment, ForFarmers is the European leader with a production of around 8.5 million tonnes of feed annually, of which 75% compound feed.
