Voluntary recall of dog food in Connecticut

Dog food sold in different locations in the US state Connecticut is being recalled by the manufacturer because it may contain Salmonella .

Recalled are five-pound bags of Krasdale Gravy dry dog
food with sell-by dates of July 16 and 17, 2008.

Pet owners are asked to
dispose of the food and return the bag to the store where they bought it for a
refund. The manufacturer, Mars Petcare US, is voluntarily recalling the product
which is also sold in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Salmonella can be
transferred to people handling the dog food as well. Pets with
Salmonella
infections become lethargic and could have bloody diarrhea,
fever and vomiting.
