Canada: Cargill to expand rail service at grain facility

Cargill plans to increase its rail capacity at its Rosetown, Saskatchewan grain elevator and crop inputs facility to 100 rail cars to better service North Saskatchewan farm customers. Prior to the expansion the facility was capable of loading 50 car units.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2013 with an anticipated completion date of fall 2013. Customers should expect minimal disruption throughout the expansion period and that the facility will continue to operate in a safe and efficient manner.

“Providing more opportunities for growers in the area and more efficient ways to move their grain is a top priority for Cargill and we will continue to look for ways to help our customers prosper,” said Blaine Duncan, Regional Manager, Cargill AgHorizons.

Cargill also expanded their Kindersley rail car capacity to 100 cars in December 2012.
