Jammu and Kashmir government has formulated a Rs 300-crore plan for making feed and fodder available for livestock in the flood-hit areas of Kashmir Valley.

“The government has formulated Rs 300 (INDR1 = USD 0.016)  crore plan for making available feed and fodder for livestock development in the flood hit areas of Kashmir Valley,” Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Nazir Ahmad Gurezi said.

He directed the Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments to prepare loss of livestock in the flood hit areas across the Valley.

Gurezi appealed to the people associated with livestock development not to panic, saying that the department has already started relief and rehabilitation measures. Livestock in Kashmir will be at risk as most of the pastures have been covered by silt brought in by floods.
