Jeil Feed Co., Ltd. and the US Soybean Export Council (USSEC), will conduct a joint flounder feeding demonstration in South Korea.
The feed mill is in the process of tweaking the experimental diet formula containing soy according to the protocol developed by USSEC and is searching for three flounder growers in Jeju Island to participate in the feeding demonstration.
Jeil Feed will then use the results from the feeding demonstration in its feed production. USSEC plans to begin the demonstration in April using 50,000 flounders weighing about 100 grams with the expectation of the fish to reach 400 grams by September. The experimental diet will be replicated at each of the three flounder farms.
USSEC will utilise the feeding demonstration results for future aquaculture programmes to promote the benefits of fish feed containing soy.
