03-12-2007 | |

The recent 1st British Dairy Symposium, hosted by Kemin UK on 27th November in Stafford has proven a huge success.

Attracting in excess of 100 delegates, the audience
included many representatives from the feed compounding business, blenders and
mineral manufacturers, independent nutritionists and veterinarians as well as a
number of leading progressive dairy farmers. Attendance was also welcomed to
Dairy Herd Management students from Reaseheath College and Rodbaston College.
The event also attracted international interest with the participation of a
delegation from Ireland.

Covering areas of major concern to the British
dairying sector (particularly fertility issues, environmental aspects and
strategies to improve dairy cow health status), the Symposium, themed
“Sustaining the Dairy Herd”, included presentations by key European specialists
from the UK, France, Belgium and Italy.

Many positive reactions have
been received from the delegates particularly with respect to the informative
and enjoyable format of the days’ proceedings.
