Alltech prepares for 26th European Lecture Tour

08-02-2012 | |

With a kick-off at home base in Dunboyne Alltech starts it 2012 annual European Lecture Tour visiting 26 cities in 3 weeks with 16 speakers and one goal: Mapping the path to a profitable future.

Adapt or perish, this is becoming the reality of the world that we live in. New technologies spring up every day, economies are no longer stable, the climate is changing and governments worldwide are drafting new regulations aimed at curbing the emission of greenhouse gases.

Everything is affected, from management to feed ingredients. At the same time the population is growing and demand for agricultural produce increases daily.

People’s expectations of the agriculture industry have changed too, in the media it’s common to hear terms like ‘sustainability’ and ‘carbon footprint’ when agriculture is discussed.

In response to these revolutionary changes, Alltech presents the 26th European Lecture Tour – Shaping Tomorrow’s Technology: Path to a Profitable Future, running from the 12th to the 22nd of March 2012.

Here, a host of new technologies such as programmed nutrition, epigenetics and the use of algae in animal nutrition will be showcased.

In addition, the company will consider the use of social media tools, such as Alltech’s Ag Network, to communicate the message to consumers.

“Change is upon us and it is not slowing down. Global demand for fuel, food and other commodities will only continue to increase as the world’s population and wealth rise. We must embrace revolutions in the industry if we want to stay competitive,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech.

“There are some fantastic new opportunities to be seized by the agriculture industry, and we make it our business to share these ideas,” said Pat Charlton, Alltech’s vice president Europe. "Join us in March for a look at how the agriculture industry can work towards determining its own future.”
