Alltech’s Global 500 address future of dairy

Alltech’s upcoming Global 500 event will include the ‘future of dairy’. With changes in EU quota regulations the markets in China and India are opening up and for dairy farmers and producers who want to preview this future marketplace, Dublin from 1-3 October is the place to be.

Speakers, including representatives from Rabobank and European Dairy Farmers will provide a roadmap for where they think the dairy industry will be in 5-10 years. Sessions will be interactive, allowing international voices to colour the dialogue. There will also be a discussion forum each day to allow attendees to delve deeper into the topics covered and to get international perspectives on local issues.

Topics will include:
•    Top Ten Opportunities for a More Efficient, Profitable and Sustainable Future
•    Global Milk Industry Outlook
•    Feeding Your Future Feed – Foundation
•    Feeding Your Future Herd – Performance
•    Mining Milk Opportunities
•    Managing Your Investments
•    Formulating Your Plan for a More Efficient, Profitable and Sustainable Future

“It’s not just about supply and demand, it’s about predicting where that demand will be and making sure that we can meet it. The world is opening up to dairy and it’s no longer enough to react; proactive production is the only way to keep up with and profit from this changing landscape,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech. “This year’s Global 500 will cover everything that the progressive dairy farmer needs to know in order to stay ahead of the herd – a global overview of the industry, protein sources and applications, mycotoxin management, fertility, heifer replacement and sustainability.”

Last year’s Global 500 saw more than 700 delegates from 30 countries come to Lexington, Kentucky and this year Alltech hopes to top that as part of The Gathering Ireland – an initiative aimed at showcasing Ireland’s potential to the world through various national events. Early-bird registration is open until the 24th of September 2013. For event details and online registration visit Alltech’s website.
