Alpharma acquires assets in China
Drug maker Alpharma Inc. has acquired certain assets of China-based Yantai JinHai Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. for use by its animal health business.
Financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is not expected to affect
Alpharma’s 2007 operating results.
The company’s animal health business
plans to use the Yantai site to blend products it currently processes in its US
facilities and sells in Asia.
In April, Alpharma said it acquired certain
manufacturing assets of Shenzhou Tongde Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. in China that
will be marketed by its animal health business.
