Animal feed cooperation Cehave ends difficult year

26-03-2009 | |

The net result of the company decreased to 10.1 million in 2008 (from 14.8 million in 2007). This was mainly due to the high raw material prices that increased with 24% to 1.2 billion.

According to Director Kees Sijssens 2008 was a difficult year. Less poultry feed have been sold to Belgium (-6%). "Last year was marked by low egg prices and high animal feed prices", he said. Also the less favoured exchange rate for Poland, Hungary and Ukraine attributed to the decreased sales.

However, the volume of animal feed sold by the company increased with 6% (excluding dry by products) and 11% growth was seen in sales including dry by products. All business units – except Voeders Belgium – attributed to the volume increase.
