German chemicals company BASF said it increased the price for vitamin B2 products by 10%.
Also known as riboflavin, with immediate effect or at the earliest possible date according to existing contracts, this is due to an increase in raw materials prices such as soy bean oil caused by drought.
The latest price hike added to a number of other increases introduced by BASF for B2 products in the last few years.
In 2010 we already witnessed an increase by 10% due to rising raw material costs along with suspended production of vitamin B2 products at its plant in South Korea.
