Common acidifier has some surprises in store

Acidifiers are common additives for pigs nowadays, so much so that one acidifier may seem very much like another. Benzoic acid appears so often in everyday foods that we might be forgiven for forgetting it exists. However, it now appears that its benefits go beyond acidifying the feed, and it may be a vital component of ammonia reduction strategies in the future.
