Comparing natural with chemical additive production

“Natural” production of some feed additives such as vitamins, enzymes and amino acids may not be the most ecologically sustainable, however environmentally friendly it may sound. In the case of the pigment astaxanthin, detailed analysis has shown that controlled chemical production sometimes comes out on top.
