DSM Nutritional Products has increased its investments in China by inaugurating its fourth premix plant in ChangChun city, Jilin province, with an operating capacity of 15,000 MT. This new plant in North East China extends DSM’s previous premix manufacturing reach of East China (Shanghai), North China (Shandong) & South China (Hunan).

“The plant in ChangChun is a further commitment to the development of the animal nutrition industry in China,” said, Dr J. Nathan Bird, Vice President of DSM Nutritional Products Animal Nutrition in China. “As our newest plant, it is equipped with state-of-the-art production control systems focusing on quality, reliability and traceability, all crucial elements for safety in the food chain. “Geographically, DSM is now in a strong position to bring this technology level to all our national and regional customers.”

The same week, DSM signed a framework agreement with ChengDu Modern Industry Park for investment in their next and fifth plant in PiXian Country, Sichuan. Construction of this plant, with a capacity of 18,000 MT vitamin / vitamin mineral blends, will begin in the third quarter of 2010.  The plant is anticipated to be operational in the third quarter of 2011.
