Prices of cattle feed have increased by more than 30% according to the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the price of cattle feed has gone up by over 30%.
GCMMF had recently written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to control the prices of de-oiled rice bran, rapeseed cake, rice polish fine, sorghum and molasses, which are the main ingredients of Indian cattle feed.
Experts say the new plant will help the state cut down on the shortage of cattle feed. The plant will cater to the demand of cattle feed for the state.
Dudhsagar Dairy
The Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. Mehsana, popularly known as Dudhsagar Dairy, is a member of the state-level Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd.
Dudhsagar Dairy is the largest dairy in Asia, processing on an average 1.41 million kilograms of milk each day.
The new feed plant will come up on a land where the Gujarat Co-Operative Oil Seeds Growers Federation Ltd, Jagudan once had an oil mill.
Due to deficient rains in some parts of Gujarat, there was fear that the rising prices of raw material will push the demand for cattle feed high. The plant will provide cattle feed to the cooperative milk societies through GCMMF.
