EuroTier, the biennial livestock event in Hanover, Germany, is expected to draw a record number of 160,000 visitors this November, it was announced at a press meeting in Göttingen, Germany.
EuroTier is scheduled for 13-16 November, 2012. The expected number of visitors is not the only record that will be broken as never before 2,336 direct exhibitors and 39 additionally represented companies confirmed their presence. In total, they come from 51 countries.
Dr Reinhard Grandke , CEO of the organising German Agricultural Society (DLG), said that the number of exhibitors is around 25% higher than the 2010 edition of the show. Partly this is related to the presence of the poultry industry this year.
He said that the exhibition area has grown by an additional six halls to altogether 16 halls over 24 ha.
The largest contingent of the altogether 1,137 foreign companies come from the Netherlands (193), France (139), China (97), Italy (90), Denmark (85), Spain (68), the United States (64), Belgium (58) and Austria (57). Grandke drew attention to China, as this contingent virtually doubled. The Chinese presence is predominantly strong in the swine feed additive business.
