Workers facing redundancy at a cattle feed mill in the UK were forced to evacuate the building after an explosion on Tuesday.
Andrew Kendall, a spokesman for BOCM Pauls, said: “The mill was evacuated after an explosion on top of one of the intake elevators. “One of the bearings in the machinery overheated and dust around it caught fire. The site was evacuated in the proper way and nobody was injured.
“Whether or not people will be back in work or not soon we don’t know yet, but we obviously want to get the plant up and running again.”
While the mill is being repaired production will be transferred to BOCM Pauls’ Newcastle Mill.
