The cooperative participation by 171 countries combining various government, non-government, and industrial sectors associated with feed and food production was key in establishing the “codex code of practice on good animal feeding”. This recently approved code contains all the necessary elements for safety assurance in the feed chain. Dr. Steve Auman explains how these regulations should be applied to national feeding programmes.
