Feed supplier files lawsuit against egg farm

Purina Animal Nutrition claims that an egg producer in Washington state has failed to pay more than US$370,000 for about 830 tons of soybean meal and has filed a federal lawsuit against the National Food Corp of Everett, Washington.

A Washington state egg farm is accused of refusing to pay its chicken feed supplier more than US$370,000 it was owed.

Purina Animal Nutrition has filed a lawsuit against National Food Corp. of Everett, claiming the egg producer and marketer didn’t fully pay for roughly 830 tons of soybean meal earlier this year.

The complaint, which accuses the egg farm of unjust enrichment and breach of contract, seeks compensation for the feed as well as interest and other costs.
