ForFarmers quits shares in poultry meat

02-01-2009 | |

With the recent acquisition of the poultry slaughterhouse Plukon to the Dutch Cebeco, ForFarmers said it is withdrawing itself from the business.

Plukon is now fully owned by the Cebeco group, a cooperation owned by
ForFarmers and Agrifirm.

Dutch feed firm Agrifirm is planning to stay
involved in the new ownership structure. “We have a lot of trust in the future
of Plukon, it is a healthy firm and still growing” said Agrifirm Director Ton
Loman.

ForFarmers does not want to stay involved in the poultry meat
business. “We want to concentrate on our key activities; selling animal feed”
explains commercial director Jan Potijk.
