Bayer launches iron injection combination in Europe

Bayer launches Baycox® Iron (36 mg/ml toltrazuril plus 182 mg/ml gleptoferron) suspension for injection for piglets across Europe following marketing authorisation from the European Commission. Bühler opens its CUBIC innovation campus

The global challenges associated with nutrition and mobility are becoming increasingly urgent. How can we sustainably feed and provide mobility for a population of nearly 10 billion in 2050? Addressing these issues and responding to them with sustainable, commercially attractive solutions is the goal of the innovation campus from Bühler. The CUBIC innovation campus with 8 Application Centers took a construction period of 20 months and an investment of about CHF 50 million (approx 44 million Euro). Project teams from all Bühler business areas currently reside in the CUBIC. Many of them are developing digital solutions, including Bühler Insights, a cloud-based IoT platform for digital services, which was created in close partnership with Microsoft. About 20% of the R&D budget went into the development of digital solutions in 2018. The CUBIC and the Application Centers will be presented to Bühler’s partners from industry and academia on the occasion of the Bühler Networking Days 2019. On August 26 and 27, 2019, Bühler expects to welcome nearly 800 guests from process industries around the world to this event.

Geelen Counterflow to launch new generation coolers

Improved product distribution, easy inspection and optional evaporation control. Those are key features of the new Counterflow Cooler Plus™, which will be launched by Geelen Counterflow at Victam International 2019 in Cologne. The new design stainless steel +10% hood has a 10% bigger air exhaust opening which reduces airspeed to avoid product being sucked into the air exhaust system. The round flange avoids the need for a transition piece from rectangular to round and the diagonal exhaust orientation keeps dust from accumulating on any horizontal surface. The big access doors in the side walls and collecting hopper enable good access for inspection and cleaning. The side walls in stainless steel contain multiple product sensors to allow automatic selection of bed depth, depending on product and ambient conditions. The discharger of the cooler is the very versatile swivel valve discharger, available in mild steel or stainless steel, that can handle any size, shape and condition of food, petfood, aquafeed and feed. Its hydraulic drive with angle encoder enables your control system to automatically set product specific open and close positions.
