Helm to sell BioExx special proteins

26-11-2008 | |

Bio-Extraction Inc. has signed a protein sales agreement with Helm AG, for the purchase and distribution of not less than 70% of the Specialty Protein products produced at the BioExx canola processing facility in Saskatoon, SK, Canada.

The agreement is unique in that it covers the entire range of specialty
protein products to be produced by BioExx, ranging from protein concentrates
through super-concentrates and high purity protein isolates. Although Helm may
purchase all of the specialty proteins from Saskatoon, BioExx can retain up to
30% of the volume for the purposes of new market development. In return for its
purchase commitment, Helm will be the sole European distributor of specialty
proteins produced at the Saskatoon plant.

The agreement comes after scientific analysis and testing by
Helm. The Saskatoon plant expects to commence production of its Advantexx70
products in the second quarter of 2009. Advantexx70 is a 70% pure protein
concentrate, initially targeted at specialty feed and aquaculture markets,
although subject to regulatory approvals it may also be sold into human food-use
markets.

The non-GMO status of the products to be produced in Saskatoon
provides yet another compelling feature to drive demand and pricing in global
markets. The Saskatchewan production volume is relatively small, but Helm views
this as an opportunity to establish a relationship which can grow as BioExx
grows and expands its production capacity.

Headquartered in Hamburg,
Germany, Helm AG is a 108 year
old company with offices worldwide including Europe, Africa, Asia and North
America, and 2007 sales in excess of € 7.5 billion. Helm is one of largest
distributors of animal and human nutrition products worldwide.

Bio-Extraction Inc. from Toronto,
Canada is a technology company focused on the extraction of oil and high-value
proteins from oilseeds for the global food market. The company is currently
completing construction its first commercial specialty extraction facility for
processing canola to produce protein concentrates for the aquaculture and
specialty animal feed markets, as well as canola oil and meal.
