Montreal, Canada-based Lallemand Animal Nutrition has announced that it has acquired Agrig8 Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s leading distributors of forage inoculants and silage systems, effective 30 June 2010.

Agrig8, which also trades under the Quality Silage Systems brand, is headquartered in Maroochydore, Queensland and operates across Australia servicing the dairy and beef feedlot sectors.

The company was founded in 1992 by Ken and Trudy Rich, and has been a long standing distributor of Lallemand’s range of forage inoculants.

The business also distributes Silostop clamp sealing systems and Silacover silage covers as well as providing contract forage harvesting management services.

Following authorization by APVMA in March 2010 of the use of Lallemand’s rumen specific probiotic yeast, Levucell SC, Agrig8’s field sales and technical team has also been successfully developing Levucell SC sales into the feedlot and dairy sectors.

The business will continue to be managed by Ken Rich the current Managing Director.
