List of 570 pet food ingredients published

28-06-2007 | |

The non-profit Consumer Wellness Center has posted a detailed nutritional review of 570 pet food ingredients commonly found in pet food products (both canned and dry).

The list, created by a joint effort between pet food
formulator Dr. Lisa Newman, N.D., Ph.D., consumer health advocate Mike Adams and
the non-profit Consumer Wellness Centre consists of harmful, disease-promoting
ingredients commonly used in pet food products across North America.

Nutritional analysis
To create the report, the ingredients of
448 popular pet food products sold in the United States were analyzed and
organized by frequency of appearance. Dr. Lisa Newman then provided a
nutritional analysis and comment for each ingredient. “Consumers need to know
what’s really in their pet food”, Mike Adams commented and this was the reason
the list has been created.
