08-09-2009 | |

Global company Mars is to produce pet food in Russia’s Volga city of Ulyanovsk, the region’s governor Sergei Morozov told RIA Novosti.

Last week Mars launched its first production line from a total investment of around $47 million, which would generate around $9.5 million in taxes for the local budget.

Morozov said that around 70 local jobs would be created. “As production develops another 100 jobs will be created,” the governor added.

Mars is a global, family-owned company producing snackfoods, petcare products, food and drinks which are consumed across the globe.
