New French nutrition group now operational

06-01-2010 | |

From the remains of cooperative Unicopa a new animal nutrition group has been formed, which is operational since January 1st of this year.

Nutrea Animal Nutrition (NNA) took over the remaining activities of animal feed cooperative Unicopa.

Previously Unicopa already sold its poultry meat branch Terrena and pork group (Broceliande) to Cooperl (Lamballe).

Headquartered in Languidic in Morbihan in the Northwest of France, it is 55% owned by Coopagri Brittanny and 45% by Terrena.

Eolys, Pigalys and Cam 56 are associated with the project through commercial supply contracts.

The identity, brands and networks of commercial NNA and Coopagri Britain and Terrena remain quite distinct. The group will have about 25% market share in the Brittanny feed market.

Nutrea produces 1.4 million tonnes of animal feed in eight plants with 470 employees on permanent contracts.
