Nuinfra Mutiara plans to export animal feed

10-11-2009 | |

Now only producing for the domestic market Malaysia based Nuinfra Mutiara Feedmill plans to export its Mutiara-labelled animal feed next year.

Mohammad Ikmal Hisham, General Manager Marketing said currently Mutiara is only sold in Malaysia. "We produce about three tonnes of feed for cattle, goats and fish every day. Next year, we intend to export our feed to countries like Australia, Japan and South Korea," he said.

Nuinfra Mutiara Feedmill, a wholly-owned Bumiputera company, started operations at the Gong Badak Industrial Estate in 2008.

Mohammad said his company would increase its production capacity when it adds one more feed processing machine next year.

"Now we have two feed processing machines. With the addition of another machine, we hope to achieve our higher production target," he said.

He said the demand for feed in the country was higher than production, about 1,000 tonnes a month, while production was only 700 tonnes.

Nuinfra also has a feed processing plant in Jakarta which has a production capacity of 250 tonnes a month.

Mutiara received the halal certification in October this year. A 50kg bag Mutiara goat feed is sold at RM37 (€7.30) and RM29 (€5,72) per 150kg bag cattle feed in the domestic market.
