Due to the increase in canine obesity and weight problems, animal health company Nutrecare has decided to expand their range of low fat dog foods.
In light of this, many pet food
manufacturers have brought out low fat and low calorie versions of their
products. These new varieties also contain high levels of fibre to help the dog
feel full and satisfied after a meal.
Healthy dogs live
longer
In 2002 a
study by Purina Petcare showed that the group of dogs
who had a controlled food intake lived up to 15% or two years longer than the
dogs who were allowed free access to food for 15 minutes a day.
More information on dog health and the new product range is provided on the Nutrecare website.
